Heres mine, but i incorporated a bowtie in the reverse part of the tail.
I also used non "rattle can" clear, mixed with black base coat in a gun shot that, then just plain clear one or 2 coats. The only reason i just " real clear" i had some left over from clearing another car, Otherwise what John did will work fine.

@oakley, yes that is what he meant.
I had a friend that just used nightshades and nothing else, looked like hell! All chalked up and cracked, and was fading. Clear offers UV protection.

Does the VHT come out darker with more coats? I'd like to do this to mine, but don't want it too dark, maybe a tab lighter than your 3rd brake light, which looks awesome btw.

The can says you shouldn't use more than three coats or the light may not shine through. I think you would need at least two coats though

Yes the more you add the darker it gets.. That is with ruffly 2 coats.. People say to spray it even, but it doesn't really start flowing out untill it is down for a little bit.. So about 5-15 min, depending on the temps.. As for the buffing, a final 1500 wet sand, a foam pad with ultra finishing cut works great.. Just have to be easy as this clear is hard, it is not quit as hard as a good automotive clear..

I did about 4 coats on the headlights which looks dark, but after you sand some material will come off and lighten back up. I think I am actually gonna sand my again and shoot another coat or two of vht too darken up a little more..
