Default silverado to escalade conversion

I'm in the middle of converting my 2000 silverado to the 02-05 caddy front end. I bought a set of aftermarket fiberglass fenders (platinum). And now that I have them here, down at the bottom where the door meets the fender theres a huge gap. By the looks the fender has been cut back to make room for the door molding when the door is opened. In the pics everything lines up...because of the molding. I don't want to run the molding as it would look shitty on a PU. I was wondering if mabey the fenders are from the EXT or ESV trim of escalade. I can't remember but for some reason the pics I seen of the OEM fenders, I don't recall seeing it cut back. So now i've wasted $800 for nothing.
