Shaving mirrors Question
#1
I would like to make my mirrors monochromatic. I read a thread a long time back that I can't find now explaining a good way to do this. Instead of painting the black part of my side mirrors, I would like to make the blue part continuous with the black plastic so there isn't a gap between the two segments- then paint the entire shell of the mirror blue to match the SSS. Has anyone done this? I haven't messed with the mirrors yet, but when you take off the painted shell, does this give you access to anything underneath the shell, like electrics or bolts, etc.? If not, then I was thinking fiberglass, or 2-part epoxy may do the trick to make the two plastics all one piece.

Why not buy a set of street scene mirrors and be done with it.. Not sure what your talking about the 2 parts thing, unless your talking about the mirrors with the painted or chrome covers.. You can get base model mirrors that are textured black, that all they need is smoothed and painted, convert them to power with your mirror parts..

Both are good options. The easier like you said is to just get the street scene mirrors. I was talking about the painted plastic shell that separates from the black underneath. Thanks for the info

Your mirrors look great but I am looking to fill that little gap between the two plastic surfaces. It's prob not worth filling in this gap. Either your way or street scene mirrors seem like the better options. thanks for the pic- looks good

You need to get the base mirrors like mangled said. If you wanna keep blinker or heated glass then just gut the base mirrors and put the better components in them. I'm sure you could find someone to trade you staright up pretfty easy to save $.
