Default Pretty close to decision on my tire dilemma

Newbie here. After checking out a number of threads on various wheel and tire topics I think I have a pretty good direction to shoot for.

2003 Sierra 4.8L 2wd, currently on bald BFG's AT's..265/75/16..but I finally got the itch to put the 18x8.5 American Racing rims back on. The truck is stock ride height and my goal is to get a big beefy performance tire out back with the same but slightly smaller and narrower up front.

It looks like a Toyo Proxes S/T 305/60/18 (OD- 32.4") will fit out back with possibly a 285/60?/18 (OD- 31.5") up front.
I'm trying to avoid the really low profile look of a tire for this application...as you can see from the pic down below...

I'm toying with the idea of dropping the rear slightly but the stock ride is about perfect for the highways miles i put on.
I appreciate any input y'all may have...hopefully somebody out there may have a bit more knowledge about this set up...

Damn, that's a good looking wheel. 8.5" seems kinda skinny for 305s though. I kinda wish I went with the 305/60s but my wheels are only 8" wide. I run the 285/60/18 toyo's on all 4s. How are you still getting those Proxes? Toyo discontinued them a while ago.

Thats a great question! Only after I posted did I realize that they discontinued them...****...The jokers at discount tire (sorry if you work there) recommended Kumho's...I havent researched them enough to know yet...and then they did the whole "you should get 20's" scheme...

I'm gonna research my *** off here today and try to locate some 305's for the rear....I'm still not sure about 285/60 or 265/60 in the front...persuade me lol

I'm hoping to have everything completed by the end of the week but I'm not rushing, hopefully i'll make the right decision the first time, i'll definately get some pics for you guys...thanks for the comments.

I had the toyo proxes once upon a time and they were great tires.

I run a 325 tire on an 8.5 rim so I wouldnt worry about a 305.

Yea, I was able to get a good look at 285/60's up close and the width seemed a whole lot better than my 265/75 BFG's, which is a fairly wide tire but the tread doesnt run across the entire width of the tire. I think 305's would be perfect if I can find them...The last thing I want to do is just throw up my hands and get 285/60's

I found a couple of links with the 305's for sale...I assume they're available and have them in stock

I thought that Toyo discontinued the original Proxes but released a ProxesII?
