Default Polishing Wheels

What's the best way to clean aluminum wheels? My truck sat up for a while and the dust ruined the mirror finish I maintained. There is a bit of oxidation that I have to get off now. I might try the super fine steel wool to get the worst part off then polish with the mothers ball or bullet. Thoughts?
