Default Pitch Black Transformation

I am going to use this thead to post pics and ideas for my trucks transformation to Pitch Black! All Black highly polished, no chrome! Feel free to flame away, suggest ideas, tips, move it to the appropriate forum, or whatever.

Bought in March 2006
2006 Silverado 2WD 5.3L V8 Flex Fuel, Spray in Liner, Auto Armor complete protection package, side rail caps, black bug def

March - Bought Corsa Sport Exhaust - $800 Dealer installed

April - Bought K&N Series 63 Air Intake - $319 Ice Truck Works Installed

April - Tinted 5 windows, back and EC glass = 20% over factory deep tint, front&pass - 20% over no tint. 3M window tint = $150 installed

April - Bought all that damn chrome that I wish never touched my truck!

Pic - before tint

June - Debadged entire vehicle, chrome to go shortly!
Pic - after tint

June 7th - Bowtie on front to be painted black and clear coated, tail lights to be smoked and clear coated. Talked to Performance Powder Coat about high gloss black powder coating the chrome on the front bumper and the flame grill inserts. $125.00 + sandblasting, or $250.00 with clear coat baked on + sandblasting. Also Custom rear rollpan in the works. $200.00 fabbed outta sheet metal with lots of supports, with exhaust cutouts, license plate recessed, and ready to spray black and CC. Cant seem to find Black inserts for the side mirrors? Any ideas? Talked to two GM parts depts, both said $10,000 to convert the outside to the SS. WTF OMFG!

$10,000?? Those guys are on crack. You want to completely black out the truck? Even the front headlights?

Yes - I did keep the stock one, and I think I may have found paintable inserts for the side mirrors, Yeah $10,000 just for parts, unpainted un installed! What a rip. Must be protecting the SS heritage I guess.
