We all know the SS is the king of the mountain when it comes to chevy trucks but the excab just doesn't do it for me.

They wanted to put a 6.0 in this thing when they were building it. But Chevy said "No way". They didn't want it competing in the market with the SS trucks. So, a 5.3 is the biggest you can get in them.
They offered 2 options, 4.8 with a 5 speed, or a 5.3 with an auto. I chose the 5.3/auto route.
