Default Part Number for piece on dash...

Hey, Im in need of a part number for the plastic pieces on a certian part of the dash. These 2 are located bottom right to the radio area. More specifically, they are the ones that are surrounding the "passenger air bag on/off" key switch ... on a Base model 01 Silverado. I made a hole for a switch in two of them and now im changing up switches and adding more and i tore it up so i need new peices.. I need just the two that surround the air bag switch... if you guys dont kno what it is from my description than I can post pics.

Thx!

- Tiffany.

On my truck, that area splits into 3 parts, 1 panel on the top part, and 2 on the bottom, one of which houses the airbag on/off switch. I have part numbers for a new housing to make it accomodate 4 panels of equal size, plus the part numbers for the panels (just don't have the part number for the double sized uppermost panel)
Housing: 15040484 List $2.49
Cover ACS: 15734687 List $3.09 ea.

Hope this helps!

Housing is what the pieces will "plug" into.. or snap into rather
and the Cover Acs are the little square pieces?

Yep, when you remove the radio bezel, there will be a square that those covers pop into. You can remove the whole housing and replace it and the panels if you want to switch to 4 panels instead of 3.

Nice.. that will actually help out a lot... I have so many switches to install.. it feels like an airplane cockpit of sorts.

But hey Bud, I really appreciate that.. I found them to be slightly cheaper on gmpartsdirect.com.

Cool deal...I figured they'd be cheaper, those were the list prices on my old invoice. I bought them a while back when I was gonna install some different switches myself...then never got around to it. I'd send you mine if I knew where they were (in the process of moving and everything's a mess!)

I tried pulling mine today to mount some switches but never could figure out how to get the entire piece out or even just the top wide section. How do I go about it? I found the release tabs for the Airbag on/off and the smaller piece next to it. Just need to know about the wider piece. Also, where can I pick up some of the ABS plastic, cause i'm gonna mount some switches where the 4wd controls would be.

I wanted to mount some switches at the 4wd panel too... i would also like to kno where some of that plastic is.. your talking about where they have that little thing that can hold your wallet right?

and also.. that large rectangular piece comes out if you pull really hard... but from the TOP... it has two clips on top which attach somewhere behind the dash.. i dont think u can break it.. just pull straight towards you and maybe try to get your fingers behind it a little.

You can probably get some ABS plastic from a stereo shop, or maybe even BestBuy or Circuit City (gonna be needing some myself soon). I don't remember how those little panels and assembly come out, but I think I used a small screwdriver and/or pick to release some tabs...
