Has anyone had any experience with changing the color of a console ? I want to put a console in my 06 silverado and the only consoles i can seem to find are lite gray, and my interior is charcoal , or dark gray. Is the paint like SEM durable ? I don't want to paint the console and have the paint wear off. Anyone know anything about this ?

I have not painted a console before but when I painted my gauge pod I used VHT interior paint and it came out good. No wearing issues. The graphite color matches perfect.

 

Thanks redLS , what I am concerned about is the fact that there is both a hard surface and the soft surface of the arm rest , or console lid. I don't want to spend the money on a console and have it look like . Anyone else have experience with this ?

 

umm im pretty sure you have to dye the soft part

 

Does this stuff hold up ? I guess what I want to know is how durable the paint and dye is .
