Default painted black texture

i got a set of flares that were primer when i got them, i had them painted and one of them has a ton of markes in them, and the paint is not very clear. i took them to another painter and he siad it was because it had been a textured flare and it will always look like that. i disagree, to me it just looks like a bad sanding job. he said because once it gets hot is shrinks and the grain comes out. i would like to hear others' opinions.

Certain primers can shrink into the grain. Thats why you sand them smooth if you want smooth.

Yep...it's all in the prep work. You still want the right primer (and perhaps a flex agent and/or adhesion promotor), but you can definitely make these things look good if you don't mind putting in the work up front.

He is partly right. You need to sand them down again and reprime them. Block that down and reshoot the sealer, color and then clear.
