I'll chime in and say that if you sand down the chrome and generously use adhesion promoter, you can paint over the grille shell. Peeling off that chrome is a pain. It's been nearly a year since I did mine...I've got a 65 mile interstate commute every day, and I don't have a single chip anywhere. Looks factory.
