My last truck was painted and it held up fine to chips. I did this in vinyl for many reasons, I can take it off, didn't have time to leave it at a body shop for paint and most of all it cost me $109 in material. It did take all day to do and wasn't much fun.

I'm guessing being a black truck it was a little easier to color match and have it come out looking good. Where did you buy the stuff from? I was thinking of doing the chrome section on my front and back bumper and if I can do it for $100 bucks it my be worth a shot.

Different site but just before you posted I found some gloss black 3m vinyl (actually exact same stuff you linked). Got two rolls that are 12" x 60" for 40 bucks shipped. Should be enough to do the front and back bumper hopefully.
Did you remove your bumper or just take the plastic molding off when installing?

Yeah I bought the 5x10 to be able to do the front bumper in 1 piece. I did the rear bumper on the truck just popped the step pads off. I took the front bumper off and took in in my living room for the a/c lol. I took it completely apart too.
