What do you mean when you say, "ride good"? As in more like the stock, squishy ride or nice and stiff? You ask about it being stable, so I'm assuming you're looking for the latter. I have the Hotchkis 2/4 drop with the sway bars and Edelbrock IAS shocks and it handles awesome in the corners and canyons if that's what you're looking for. As far as ride quality you can say bye-bye to a comfy/stock ride, you feel everything in the road.I must've gotten used to it because I rode in a Mercedes E500 and it felt like I was riding on pillows compared to my truck. Also, if what you're looking for is eliminating the "lean" when going around corners then get a set of sway bars. I think they help the most.
My truck with the drop I mentioned with 275/45/20.

With the air shocks I run 30 lbs. when I am unloaded and it does not lift the truck at all and I have plenty of room for the rear end to move. I don't regret the notch and would highly recommend it on a 4" - I know alot of guys run a 4" without it but it did not satisfy me. See attached pic.

EDIT: How will a 2" front drop coil and a 4" rear drop shackle and drop spring hanger combination ride? Would it be better to get a lowering spindle or does it not rally matter?
