They're gone.
I'll succumb to more infinate wisdom and peel the bed rails later, when the temps fall below 95*.
Had the exact same problem when I debadged my tailgate. Sun was right on my back too. Wound up just pulling the tailgate off the truck and debadging in my living room.

I take it that most people here think that the truck would look cleaner without the bed rails and nerfs. I'm thinking about it.

I'm also thinking of adding a billet grill? Not the bolt over ones but the inserts.
leave that thing in the sun for a couple of hours and the Z71 badges will peel right off

Thats what I did on my S-10.

What components did oyu use for the drop? I want to drop my Z exactly like that. You cant tuck them in anymore without ordering wheels with a different backspacing.

I am honored. I got the parts locally but they are on Summit's site too, just not as a package.

Belltech 2" drop spindles require 17" wheels minimum, and then still had to shave the bottom of the ball joint bolt to get the Welds over it.
2" shackles and then 3-4 hangars.
This gave the truck a level stance but i wanted a 1" forward rake so i had an alingment shop measure all 4 points and evenly drop the front 1" with torsion adjustment. Best $30 spent. Ride is near stock, if not substantially better.
Parts ran me about $400.

I was afraid of that. these welds are 4.5" back space, I'm not going to buy new wheels so I guess i'm going to have to live with the tires protruding the 1/2", besides it makes it easy to parrallel park . Spent too much on the truck as it is.

I just got finished peeling the rear GMC and SIERRA emblems, and bed rails are off! I have to admit it looks clean and mean. I'll get the nerf's off anther day .

Looks great. Definately agree with removing the rails and nerf bars. I just saved that one pic to my desk top....my friend has a Z-71 that he wants to lower and this should be inspiration.

Bed rails and stickers are gone. I'm not sure if I want to take off my SLT stickers...I paid dearly for them.
