I think you could use a fishing line or maybe use a heat gun to get the glue to melt then to take of the glue just use some goo gone or maybe just some soap and water thats what I used for my rear badges. Hope this helps a bit.

I just pulled my moldings off yesterday. Took about 15 mins. to get one side off. All I had was WD-40 and a little patience. The side I started on was in the sun for a while so it was the easiest to take off. Just start pulling the molding AWAY from the truck body. Don't pull it off at an angle. Every 1 or 2 inches I sprayed some WD-40 on the double sided tape to soften it. Came off really easy. Most of the tape stuck to the molding so I didn't have to peel any off from the truck body. After that I wiped all the excessive WD-40 from the body and gave the area two good layers of wax. Looks very nice now and it shows no evidence of a molding being there at one time.

I posted this a while back but HOT HOT water works great, not boiling but hot. As you pull it off put some plastic wrap under the loosened portion so it does not flap back down and stick again. Heat the water up on the stove to about 150 or so and pour it over the trim slowly and pull it off. This does not use solvents and seems to cut down on the adhesive pulling off the trim and sticking to your paint.

That's the first mod I do when purchasing a new ride, moulding, emblems, and badging. I just pulled all that stuff off of my new Tahoe. It was the easiest one so far. It was a warm day and they peeled right off. 3M makes and adhesive remover that's safe on paint, that took care of the residual adhesive and double back tape.

Yeah, I guess they are if you are careful. I didn't care much pulling mine off, the little chrome strip has some creases in it, but otherwise they looked ok.

A while back there was a lot of talk about an eraser wheel that was awsome. Of course that thread started the week after I removed mine Here is the link.

You can get them at paint supply stores.

I didn't know about this little thing when I did mine... I used a small butane torch to heat up the glue. That got most of it off but I had to finish it off with some 3M solvent and plastic scrapers. THAT WAS A MAJOR PITA!

leave it in the sun. On a hot day they peel right off with no residue.
