how do you get them off of my 99 silverado?? i dont like the chrome ones and i want to get black painted ones on there

Get behind them with a screwdriver and gently pull them off with youre fingers there are clips and double sided tape holding them on.

so i cant just take them off? i would have to get some black ones to replace them? anyone have any pics of the mirrors without the caps on them? so i know where to pry and where not to?

No its ugly behind them. Just pry anywhere carefully I didnt break any clips on mine.
