Lowering Kit

Ive got a 2004 Chevy Avalanche and im looking for a nice lowering kit. ive got 22's on it and its pretty high. i dont know if i should run a 2-3 or a 4-6. any suggestions on a kit and height?

first thing i guess is the wheel/tire specs your running...whats the offset on your rims? what size tires..this is a big factor, when thinking about the 4/6 drop especially

the rims are 22 inch, tires- 305 40R 22. i dont know the offset of the rims. where would i find that out?

Canucktrux 08-01-2007 10:57 PM

if your unsure of the offset..another option is measuring the backspace of the rim..place a straightedge across the backside of the rim..lip to lip of rim, not tire buldge..and measure to the mounting surface..

Also..that tire size isnt 4/6 drop friendly at all..265/35 is the norm for 22's and that drop..

Best bet without any worries, in my opinion is aim for the 2/3 drop you mentioned..unless you want to get into buying new tires..and possibly rims.

alright sounds to complicated. ill just stick with the 2/3 drop. but i am having to get new tires soon. i could always change to a lower profile tire if there is one...

I'm going 285/40/22 with 5.5" of BS...should I be fine with a 3/5 drop? Has anyone noticed more room in the wheel wells of the NNBS?

Go with a 3/5 drop it should work great with you

Jeff12 08-02-2007 10:27 AM

who makes the 3/5 drop?

You can make a 3/5 drop just about any way you want
front:
1" springs/2" spindles
4" control arms/1" coil spacer
3" springs
2" control arms/1" springs
3" control arms

Rear:
Flip kit with 1" lift shackle
4" leaf springs with 1" drop shackle
2" shackles/2" hangers with overload leaf removed(comes out to about 4.75")
3" leaf springs/ 2" shackle

These are 22" wheels with 305/40 tires, with a 2/3 drop (spindle/coil)

The height should look about the same on your truck, I think its perfect for a daily driven vehicle. it can rub a bit, I think with 3/5 it would be even worse.

Sorry I don't have any better pics, this doesn't really show how low it is.
