I kind of like the look of the color matched grill and a billet bowtie. There was a guy over on Silverado SS site that was machining the SS in a bowtie. It would look great the have the HD machined into a billet bowtie. The bumper looks great!

Colormatch it; I think it'll match up better with the center section painted to match the rest of the grill. Then maybe a billet bowtie and grill to complete the look. Got it lookin' good so far man.

Looks like color-matched is the choice, thanks for everyones advices I'm not real big on the billet bowtie thing, but I like the idea of a painted bowtie, but then again, paint chips, lol, decisions......

tough call on the way the billet grills look on these new front ends, they seem off to me, thoughts?

That came out really good. If I ever wind up with an HD I'll be making some of those brackets and putting a 1500 bumper cap on it....instant +2" of approach....I don't understand why every GMC HD owner on the planet doesn't do that on day 1 to eliminate the ridiculous plastic afterthought that comes wedged between bumper+grille from the factory.

I personally think the chrome grille is the way to go on the new HD. I don't think it'd look right colormatched given the way it's "broken up."

I was never a huge fan of billet bowties...until I got one (on last truck).

I got my grille color matched and I like it alot better than the chrome look. IMO you should paint it. Looks sweet btw. Cant wait to see what it looks like with the rims on it and lowered you will definately have a very good looking truck.

Update:

I got the aluminum spacers machined up to replace the stacks of washers. I had the center hole machined at a very tight tolerance to tie all four mounts together more securely. I probably didn't need to do that, but the little extra strength makes me feel better

bumper mounts with washer stacks:

Billet Aluminum spacers that will replace the washers:
