Default Instrument Cluster Lens Removal

Has anybody ever successfully removed the clear lens from the instrument cluster bezel? If so, how did you do it?

I bought a carbon fiber overlay from Nine Ball last year and I want to put it in.

I did it for any overlay when I had my stock gauges. I didnt remember it being very hard. I'll go look in the garage when I get home and tell you if I find anything about it to help. It will be tomorrow though since I dont get the internet installed at the house until tomorrow afternoon.
I think I used a small flat head screw driver to slowly pry it off, but I could be mistaken.

Well scratch that idea. The lens cracked pretty bad in two places and a piece broke off in one area. I was taking my time and trying to be extra careful too.

Maybe it's time for a nicer cluster anyway?

When I put in my trans temp gauge, I opened up half it using an exacto knife (with a very sharp blade). It was tedious and time consuming, but everything was fine until I starting cleaning everything back up for installation. I was trying to clean the inside of the clear and applied to much force holding it open, <snap> right down the middle. So there I sat holding half of it in my hand. Damn thing was very brittle to say the least. Now I have a nice crack right down the middle.

I plan on checking with some speedo shops to find out if I can get a new piece, just haven't had time to really look into that, yet.
