Default input for a drop kit

yesterday, i put some 17" aluminum alloy wheels with 275/60r17 tires on, and got rid of the 20's. i am still stock ride height, and these rims'tires are about 1" shorter than the 20's. obviously, this leaves a decent gap between the tire and fender.

what is the cheapest way to drop a few inches and still ride/handle well. i am not into the dropped look, not interested in a 4/6 drop or anything extreme like that. i just want to take a bit of the gap out. i am thinking of 2" drop shackles in the back, but i dont know about the front??

any suggestions.....

( i have included a pic of the wheels )

Honestly, I think the best way to drop the truck is to just buy a DJM, Belltech or McGuiers(SP) kit. They are proven, fit and most of the time guaranteed to work.

if you are going to drop it in the front any try to stay away from springs.
and i would suggest a 2/4 drop if you dont like it too low. IMO 2/4 looks good and rides good as well

How about some 2" spindles up front and 2" shackles in the rear...it won't look lowered really and should drop pretty evenly. (personally I'd go for 4" in the rear, just my .02)

Go Belltech or McGaughy's kit. Spindles do ride better. I have belltech 2 in spindles and shackle and hangers too. so it is a 2/4. I think you would like this. It would feel the gap look great and still ride good

this should be what you do. The stock rake is 2 inches lower in the fron than the rear, so it would look proportionally(sp?) stock, just seem a little bit lower. The total job would be VERY easy to do aswell, afternoon job indeed.

i just have 2" shackles in the rear to level it and love the way mine looks....not too low so i can still get over my driveway and it looks good with the stock 16" wheels....
