also look into the porter cable polisher, the guys over at ls1 tech swear by it, its more expensive than the orbitals but it cuts faster and is designed to not burn through as fast as the profesional buffers

 

Oh, the one I recommended is a low speed dual action buffer, it is not a high speed..

 

+1 portercable is the best do it yourself polisher out there without stepping up to the pro equipment.

Not to hurt any feelings but you want to avoid the Pep Boys/Sears/Turtle Wax random orbit polishers. They are fine for applying wax but don't have the muscle for any paint correction. If you are looking to remove swirls look elsewhere.

The Porter Cable 7424/7336 is an excellent choice for an RO polisher that will remove swirls. The risk of paint damage is minimal with them as well.

 

I agree with Frito. I don't personally have one, but I know that the orbitals are pretty much for applying/removing wax. If you want to work over you paint, then get a porter or milwaukee. From want I understand you can burn the paint if you don't know what you are doing. FYI

 

Well I have to disagree, my truck is black and I get swirl marks after a few washings. The craftsman I posted removes them no problem... IMO it has little to do with the machine and has more to do with the polish you use.... If I use cheap polish it does basically nothing for the swirls, but if you buy a quality polish then it has no problems removing the swirls... IMO using a high speed buffer on decent factory paint is over kill, and more than likely your stripping off more of your clear coat than you should... IMO a high speed buffer should only be used on paint that has been wet sanded...

I actually just ordered the ultimate detailing machine which is basically a take off of the porter cable with just a few differences in the build and the power cable and such havent gotten it yet but cant wait till i do. i bought a kit so it was like 250 but they give the machine the pads the polish the whole nine http://www.pinnaclewax.com/pinnacle-...g-machine.html
