Default Hoodliner

Hi,

Has anybody here removed their hoodliner? Mine looks like crap and I'm tempted to just get rid of it all together.

Does removing it increase noise levels noticeably?

Does the lack of insulation increase the chance of heat screwing up the paint?

What am I going to find if I do remove it - is it a glued-on mess?

Are there any nice, clean-looking aftermarket alternatives?

My girlfriend was looking at buying a Hyundai Tiburon and I noticed the hoodliner in it is kind of a harder plastic-like material rather than the soft stuff I'm used to. I kinda liked it. I would be interested in knowing what kind of material that is...

Thanks for any info!
Travis

i can't answer any of yur other questions but...

removing it won't affect yur paint. myself and 2 friends have aftermarked hoods. the undersides of the fiberglass hoods are painted with the same paint the rest of the truck has. there is no clearcoat on the underside. the undersides of the hoods haven't been affected at all so the top surely won't.

also, if my painted engine trim pieces (engine cover, radiator cover, etc) haven't messed up i don't think anything will.

I'm most likely going to be pulling mine out very soon. It's got salt stains on it from driving it during the winter months.

Sounds good, everybody - if time permits this weekend, I think I'll remove it. Thanks for the input!
