Default HID for projectors

Can I run 55W or should I just stick with 35W in projector lens for low and high beam HID's? Color I will be selecting is 8000k

I would also stick with 35w. Also the higher the k the less light output. I run oem 4100k with oem denso ballasts from a lexus. My buddy runs 6k on his and you could see the difference down the road between mine and his and his is only 6k, so imagine 8k. Look around they make oem bulbs with halogen bases.

Go with the 35w HID's unless you want to be pulled over all the time for having the 55w being too bright. I have a friend that had 35w HIDs in his F250 for years and then bought a set of 55w HIDs to replace them (one of his balasts went bad). He was pulled over 3 times the first week he had them in. He is now looking for another set of 35w. I would think of it this way......the 35w are going to be brighter than ANY regular bulb you can buy so why go for the added unwanted attention.

I would also go with a 6000k bulb because that is a natural light color that won't fatigue your eyes when driving for a long time at night. 8000k bulbs will have a more blue color to them which also blinds others while not being actually brighter. The kelvin rating is just the color of which the bulb burns at. the higher in the color spectrum you go (higher than 6000k) the more abnormally blue they look. The blue color is very intense and is hard on the eyes when in dark conditions. Notice how the blue led lights on cop cars are so bright.

Another vote for 35W, have them in lows and fogs and love them.

Blue negatively affects your night vision, if you're ever outside around xmas, you'll notice you can't focus on exterior blue LED christmas lights. Red is the easiest on your night vision which is why so many cars have red illumination and why they sell red filters for flashlights.
