what do you guys recommend the 55w or 35w?

After installing my 5000K 35W kit, I think a 55w kit would glare very badly in a stock 99-02 silverado housing. With 35W lows and fogs, it is plenty bright.

How is the stock housing for HID's? Do you get flashed by oncoming traffic at all?

Are you guys with 99-02 Silverados using the stock housings? I thought you needed an aftermarket housing for HIDs with 99-02 trucks.

Stock housing on my 99. And I have never been flashed with my lows on. I don't have a kit for my highs so I never really use them because the lows are brighter anyway.

I have not been flashed yet but I have only had mine in for a few months and don't DD the truck. I do have them aimed correctly to help minamize the glare to oncomming traffic. My stock 00 housings cast a little glare but as a whole the beam patteren is pretty good. I have considered trying a Depo brand projector with the HIDs to improve the cutoff though.
