Head unit question

Will the head unit out of a '00 Camaro which has the monsoon fit in my '01 silverado?

you will have to take them apart and change the brackets........and the monsoon wont make any difference on your truck speakers since they have amp between the h/u and the spkrs

dont those radios have the chip in them that wont allow them to work unless its in the original car it came in? I know the factory radio my sierra came with wont work anywhere else

I took the stereo out of my brothers '00 Z71 and installed it in my '01 that originally had a tape player and it worked, the only problem is that all the lights have gone out on my CD player.
