Default The HD on 36x14.50 Swamper STS's.

I got them mounted up today. I had them use static beads to do the balancing, I had good luck with them in the X-terrains. Took them for a 20 mile ride during lunch. The have a nice huuuum to them. Quiteter than the X-terrains. Anyway, here they are. He put some tire dressing on them when he mounted them So they are shiny!!

As you can see I did decide to trim the bumper. Gave me a lot more clearance. So I figured what the hell.

I think I am at the point now where I need more gear. I only drove it a few miles. But its kicking down in places it never did before.

Dude with those tires, you need at LEAST a 4.56 gear swap. I love the look of the treads, they look Pimp! Nice looking truck!

A friend of mine just bought a 2001 HD with a 12" lift on 39.5" tires. Its running with 4.10 gears, but he's not sure if he should upgrade. Any suggestions to what gears would be best with his truck and how much it runs to do the upgrade?

With 39.5's he needs a 4.88 or 5.13. Hes looking at $1400 or so for front and rear installed. I am going with a 4.88.

Yep. did it mysellf. Used a saw-zall. Then used a fine grinding wheel to get it close. Then used a hand file to tune it up. Took a while, but it turned out good.
