I was wondering, we currently do not have a speedo that goes past 120. Has anyone tried taking a guage cluster and removing the tach and speedo and installing autometer guages instead. You could just wire in the guages to the original pinout plug I would guess. Are the voltages the same? I guess I need to do a little research on that.

It wouldn't be just for the speedo, I would want the tach and the other guages as well. I would want to keep the warning lights up above but have autometer guages for the rest. I think I will buy a used instrument cluster and see what I can do with it.

Everyone is getting those guages. I think a complete autometer guage cluster would look more race inspired than the others. Later this year I hope to get a rollcage and corbeau seats so I think that type of instrument cluster would go with the whole theme. Just looking for something different.

there is no real need to see what speed you are going at at those speeds. I could have go the escalae/denali cluster, but once you are over the 100 mph mark, you are liable to be arrested and going to jail, so who really cares.
If you are trying to monitor your truck, hook up a laptop or some sort of monitoring module to tell you your actual MPH from a better standpoint.
