i am going to color match the handles, mirrors and bumper cap, get an HD hood, Z-71 tahoe valance and fog lights, clear corners, remove the black rubber bumpers on the edges of the doors and eventually powder coat the wheels gun metal. should i do anything else, leave it at that or not do something i have planned?

Yeah 03 tailights would look real good in your truck.You could also get the plastic that goes on top of the tailgate off the newer trucks

If they charging $300 and you don't know why, definitely need to talk to someone.

As for the truck, I would do an all chrome tahoe grill, paint the whole mirror, and leave the chrome cap, roll pan or paint the rear bumper plastics, and 03+ tails.

EDIT: I see you have a plastic bedliner....forget the silvy ss tailgate cap, unless you dont need the plastic bed liner that comes on top of the rails. or maybe go to a sprayed in liner that doesnt go on the rails
