First Trip
#1
I took my first trip to Camp Far West lake on Saturday. The truck tows the boat effortlessly. Of course the whole thing weighs less than 3,000 lbs.
I launched the boat from the shore line, not the launch ramp. One guy tried to tell me I would get stuck (he thought it was a 2 wheel drive) but in 4 wheel it didn't spin a tire.
The boat ran the best it ever has, I just put new carbs on it, and changed the impellor. My top speed was 85. Not to bad for a 10 to 1 427. It goes without saying, that it is Chevy powered.I ran the boat through 1/4 mile, last year it cut a 13.20 at 78 mph. With my new top speed of 85, I think it will run high 12,s.
Does the boat match my truk, or should I get a new boat?

You should try the Dragboat races sometime. You wount beleive how fast the hydros and flat bottoms can go. I went to the races in Red Bluff Ca, and was laughing while walking through the parking lot, because when the blown alcohol hydros run, it would set off car alarms in the parking lot, I bet some people had dead batterys at the end of the day.
They have boat races in Texas.
