Default escalade guage cluster?????

in order for an escalade cluster to fit in my 99 sierra, will an 03 cluster work or will the 02 escalade cluster only work? what is involved with the swap, just taking it to the dealer for them to program in the miles? how much does that cost?? Thanks

You'll need the 02 cluster. It should be plug and play except for the miles.

I've been told that you have to take your truck to the dealer with your new cluster and they have to program in the miles. Anyone know how much this costs??

I called my local dealer and they didn't do it themselves. They refered me to the people they use and I had it done in under 10min for $40.

There's something about the 99's that doesn't allow a 00 and up cluster to be plug and play. I can't remember exactly what it is, but something has to be modified (if not, I believe that the trans temp guage won't work? and the air bag light will illuminate). If you check JPCustom's website, you'll notice that they offer a different, pre-modified Denali or Esky cluster for the 99's...that's where I got mine (Denali Cluster)

It was called technicar. From what I saw at the counter, they delt with vehicle electronics (radios, hvac controls, gauges, etc) I am fairly certain most of there business is dealers, but they didn't turn me away.
