Default Engine color ideas...

I'm thinking of painting the LQ9 after I build it (eventually...it's coming along slowly, especially now that wifey's 8 1/2 months preggo). The truck is black with grey interior, and I have some blue accents, both in the cab and under the hood. (cab: hidden blue neon under the center of the dash behind the console, Denali cluster which illuminates blue, a-pillar vac guage which illuminates blue, maybe eventually go with blue led's throughout. under hood: some blue wire loom and zip ties, the Volant air box...might do something with the intake/engine cover...guess that's it). I'm kinda thinking of doing the engine yellow...I've always like the yellow-blue combo, and you see so little of the engine, it's not like it would be overwhelming. It would actually match the Bilstein shocks (which I'll probably eventually remove in lieu of some shocks intended for a lowered vehicle).

I've also thought of doing the block good ol' Chevy orange, but I've been there done that with other vehicles, kinda want something different. My other thoughts were blue, or black of course.

What do you guys think?

Even though you've already done it before, I personally would do a chevy engine orange block with unpainted (aluminum) valve covers and add a little chrome to the top, maybe a polished intake tube or maybe the engine cover. If I ever do a 6.0L swap that's gonna be my color scheme. BTW congrats future dad

What ever you decide on is best for you, but I think I'd do Chevy Orange, or Black and Orange.
Your going to have to live with this mod so don't make a rash decision.
Yellow would be cool with the blue, but I keep thinking Yellow will get dirty so fast you'll be cleaning the engine bay all the time.
Nice new sig too.

Oh yea, I plan on keeping the heads, oil pan, valve covers, etc. aluminum...I might do a home polish job on the valve covers, even though you don't really see much of them.

My mind keeps coming back to Chevy Orange, and so far you guys are re-enforcing my instincts

Thanks for the congrats magnetized, wifey and I are totally psyched to meet our little girl...we feel like we know her already. She's gonnna be Rose Josephine Ceralli. I've already built the stroller and customized it with a few racing decals (#3, Edelbrock, the Thrush bird...wish I had the bucks to get some custom CNC'd wheels )

Interesting....easy to keep clean.

So many ideas now...hmm. Black would definitely match and be the easiest as far as cleaning goes...

at least I have plenty of time to decide
