whats the best way to remove the tailgate lettering? I have the huge lettering too

if your gonna go to the trouble of taking em off leave it clean
as for taking them off heat gun paitence and some light solvent for left over glue

Use a heat gun on low setting and one of those yellow plastic body filler applicators. Apply the heat and dont stay in one spot too long. After a little heat try to slip the applicator under the first or last letter and work your way to the other end constantly just behind the heat gun . Take your time, you dont want to burn the paint- its trial and error - but alot easier then you think. Mine came off real easy this way.

I think you are crazy for not want to keep the CHEVROLET on the back...on my Silver 2005 1500 i dont think i could go with out it...

The thing is the letters are starting to peel so o want to take them off before it really becomes ugly. They are peeling and chipping off in the corners of each letter.

I get what you mean now...I still think the lettering would look better then nothing...or atleast on my Silver birch metalic the black letters look awsome.
