Default El Cheapo Lowering

I already have a 2/4 kit consisting of control arms, shackles/hangers. It looks as if it has an ever so little rake to the rear. An inch or less should be perfect. My question is that is it wise to remove the overload spring? Would that screw anything up? Has anyone done this?

That is going to be the easiest and cheapest way to lower the rear. It will probably make the truck bouncier and you won't be able to haul as much stuff. Other than that, the only thing to watch for is that it might be necessary to cut your bumpstops a little.
