Well, clay barring is to take wax and polishes off to the paint, so naturally it would be dull.

Once you claybar you have to buff and rewax. Its not a one step process.

the only way to get a good shine is with an actual clay bar , a cut, polish, then sealer/wax.....anything by hand is a waste of time

 

clay barring does not remove wax, and sealers...only a good cut will perform that.

A clay bar is simply used to remove inconsistencies and pollution in the paint

i used that ice wax before and it was ****.left mild streeking on my black paint.used it once and then threw it away.All of that turtle Liguid Ice stuff is ****.I buy Mother's Brand only products and have no problems.

 

If you want to see what 8 hours of buffing will do to 20 year old paint check out this thread, that is what the truck looked like when I bought it and then after I buffed it. The second like is what a drop and 20"s will do to a truck, and the dick head I bought it from had the nerve to tell me I ruined it.

And for the clay bar ice you can see why it pissed me off since I had just spent so much time wheeling the truck out a week or 2 ago. I rebuffed the whole truck today and it looks better now than it did. I knew I needed to go back and rebuff it but I had not planned on doing it so soon. I have used the ice wax before and it works great for detailing but no just as good a job as a paste wax will do.
