Cool deal, its amazing what a difference a full detail makes. First time I did one on my truck, after the first step it looked better than just putting a single stage wax on.

Nice job! I think I do a good job of keeping the swirls out of my paint too. I was a car detailer for 2 years before I entered the Air Force. Detailing my truck is like second nature for me. Some people think I'm obsessed.

For all of you detailers in this thread, what did u do the very first time you polished something with a machine? Is it not advisable to attempt it your first time on a nice truck? I've got tons of light scratches from using a towel that wasn't really 100% cotton.

Would it be worth it to buy a PC buffer, or pay someone to polish it for me? In the long run i'm sure the buffer would pay off, but what if I suck at using it? Autopia makes it sound so easy...

its hard to screw up with a orbital PC buffer. just read up and start using light pads and weak compounds.

Thanks again for the comments , to anyone interested in the Jeff Werkstatt stuff they have a website...not sure if I can post the link but you can easily find it by google searching.

I'm definitely no pro at detailing, I've only been using the Porter Cable for a few months...if anyone is a pro it's ZaneO! I can only hope my skills will get that good as I gain more experience. Anyway, TXsilverado is right the PC is pretty fool proof as far as leaving holograms and burning the paint like a rotary buffer will. It's very very user friendly. Just make sure you use some high quality pads! The one that comes with the PC WILL marr your paint...I learned that from experience.

If anyone is every interested in a detail job just shoot me a PM. I'm working on a website but I'm not very proficient with html so it's taking awhile lol.
