So when you guys start your trucks in the morning whats is you trany temp? Then what is your average temp after warm up?
I have a 160 stat. So my water temps run at 175 to 180. So I would assume that sense my trany oils runs through the radiator that when the water temps are 175 that the trany temp would be 175 or hotter. Note I have no trany cooler.

 

I dont know exactly where it reads trans temp, but the water temp you are seeing is the hot side of the engine, after it has gone through the whole block and before it is cooled. The trans fluid goes through the cold side of the radiator, which would be a good amount colder than what the gauge shows for coolant temp in the engine. Then after that it runs through its auxilary cooler, so it is pretty well cooled. In the winter my gauge hardly ever moved.
