Decladded, Resurfaced, Polished GMC's

It was a pain in the ass to remove the cladding and pricey to get resurfaced but all worth it in the end! Specially since they aren't so popular... yet... phump

Waiting on my clear corners, z71 valance and new silver bowtie! should look ( . Y . )

Damn those are badass. What wheels are those again? Are they the NNBS stocker one with the hub cap things attached to them?

javzh 07-15-2012 11:05 PM

they are the gmc 20s chrome clad
the chevy 20s chrome clad are similar but 5 spokes

texasglock23 07-15-2012 11:30 PM

20002wdchevy 07-15-2012 11:51 PM

Those look great, nice job. After you broke off the covers I assume there was an adhesive holding the covers to rims? How hard was it clean off?

Vortec350ss 07-16-2012 09:14 AM

I don't get why they bother with the fake chrome cladding... its cheap and looks like shit IMO. Not that the wheels are ugly before, but the way they go about it is just Pathetic...

89LS1FOXER 07-16-2012 09:59 AM

those look amazing!

slpsilverado 07-16-2012 10:54 AM

Looks awesome!!

I've got the same wheels, and love 'em. Get some Chevy center caps! The plastic lug nut covers off of NBS Chevy 17s will fit these wheels, too.

eddie_da_chevy_guy 07-16-2012 12:14 PM

Do u have pics of the wheels before you polished?

Man those look great! Now I know what my truck would look like with those on!

Any way possible for center caps?

Here's what your front will look like with your new z71 valence and Bowtie,

Yes. Mine have OEM caps on there. Not the best pic, but you get the idea. You'd need to get them resurfaced to match.

just get paint stripper from home depot and it bubbles right off, the place where you get them coated/polished should also strip them chemically.

How heavy are they? What exactly do you mean by "resurfacing"?

dont know how heavy but they arent light...
they had some curb rash and some deep scratches so they had to take some material off. Picture what they do when you turn rotors

Chevy_King1500 07-16-2012 09:50 PM

 looks awesome!

1FSTGMC 07-16-2012 11:27 PM

What exactly do you mean by "resurfacing" I saw you tried to polish them before the resurfacing and they didnt turn out. What did the shop do to get them that clean? i can understand polishing but they must have stripped them down. I can get the same set of wheels at work for 400 bucks, but i hate the silver look. How in the world did they pull of a polished billet look on those????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

resurfaced you say? What does that mean?

blwn4.8 07-17-2012 12:01 AM

this is an example of resurfacing wheels except they don sand blast them, they sand them down with a sanding wheel...

They are all over the internet. They are 3 1/4 inch in diameter. Use Google and search for "chevrolet 3.25 center caps". As an example, here's a couple of sets of chrome ones for $100. I found these in 30 seconds. I'm sure if you dug deeper, you could find them cheaper elsewhere.

His wheels look chrome-ish. The caps I have came polished. You'd need them to get resurfaced to match the chrome-ish wheel...or find them already chrome to begin with. I have no idea what the resurfacing process is like...I left mine in the polished silver.

Nice truck dude, and the wheels look great now. Wont take long for this to catch on.

06colorado 07-17-2012 06:08 PM

Do you have to dismount the tire to take the cover off the wheel?

black00chev 07-17-2012 08:56 PM

Those look awesome all cleaned up!

no but it makes it much easier

GMCtrk 07-18-2012 12:10 AM

Almost looks like the centerline stingray ultras. What's the weight on that wheel?

03sierraslt 07-18-2012 05:40 AM

I like those wheels. The new centerlines don't look very good to me, I liked the older design better.
