Daystar 2" leveling kit on '04, looks SICK!!!
#1
Just finished the install of the Daystar 2" leveling coil speing spacers and it looks so freggin' good. Our new 2004 5.3 Silverado sits just about dead level, I need to check it out tomorrow in daylight though...I have seen here that there are accounts of these things "sagging" and the ride being more harsh...To address the
sagging" myth, I have had Daystar products on 3 Jeeps and they are used quite frequently in the "Jeep world" NEVER have I heard of an instance of a Daystar "sagging"...second, the ride remains just about the same as stock since we kept the stock coils and shocks, and by the way, what is with the weak *** shocks on these 1500's? Those shocks will be replaced soon, any recommendations?
Install was pretty easy, goota disconnect all the ball joints upfront (3) and move the front brake assembly to the side (while leaving the lines connected, heh) then jack it up by the lower a-arm, drop the shock, put in the spring compressor, diconnect the sway, lower the a-arm, drop the coil, put the spacer on top, put the coil back, slowly jack the a-arm up to seat the coil and spacer, connect sway, drop compressor, remount shock, remount lower ball joint, adn reassemble front brake assembly...took about 2 hours for the complete install...that is my write up in a nutshell...it was WELL worth the $80! Now I just gotta get an alignment (still tracks straight and sterring well is centered) so I knoe all is kosher. So anyway...I highy recommend the kit!
Now time for a couple beers...BLAP!

Why didn't you just lower the rear 2" to level it? Takes about 30 minutes with some drop shackles. I would only raise the truck if I were putting some offroad or larger diameter tires on it. Just my opinion.
