Default Colormatching Fontend

I want to paint the following to match my 2005 silverado (black): front bumper, valance, and cap. I searched the forums, and well I didn't find exactly what I am looking for. I want to know how I go about doing this. What paints, primers and preparatory materials do I need to buy to paint the plastic and the chrome. Also what techniques should be used?

My ex-girlfriends mom backed into my truck a while ago, and there is a dent in the chrome. I need to buy another one, would it be easier to find one that is not-chrome, like a worktruck bumper, or just find a way to paint over the chrome on a new bumper.

Thanks...

I just found this, i think it will look good with the cap and valance painted black to match. Shipping is expensive!

I think I can help you, mdwatts11. I purchased the same exact bumper that you posted in your original post. You can see pics of my truck with the bumpers and a mini-review of the bumpers here:

I've had them on for almost 6 months now and I don't see any problems yet. I didn't even prep the bumpers before I installed them.

Cheaper to buy a paintable bumper than to strip, prep and paint a chrome one. BlackLM7 that is a great job on yours. Congradulations
