Coil Springs???
#1
What is the easiest way to remove the front coil springs off of my 2000 silverado? Keep in mind this will be a one man job. Do I need a spring compressor or is there a better way?

Not hard
I loosen the upper and lower ball joints
Remove the sway bar end link
disconnect the out tie rod
after loosening the ball joints and they pop
I use the double hammer method
place a jack under the lower control arm
have a jack stand under the frame
jack the frt susp - so all the weight is on the jack
under the control arm
remove the brake caliper
and remove the knuckle as an assy
SLOWLY - lower the jack under the control arm
release the pressure on the lower control arm
The spring will push the lower control arm down until
there is no tension on the spring
remove the spring and replace - reassy in reverse
then do an alignment
