Washed and polished the daily driver/beater truck, and the weekend toy a few days ago. I used a polish called Liquid Glass, in a metal can. What's funny is, I got this stuff probably 15 years ago when I worked part time at a speed shop. I used to use it all the time because it goes on and off easily. Found it while cleaning out the basement over the weekend, then I shook it up, and spread it on...works as good as it ever use to, lol.
I hurt my back almost a year ago and have been off work since February, so the truck was long, long overdue for any sort of cleaning, but since I have been feeling pretty good lately, decided I'd take advantage and clean the vehicles up.
The beater is my 2002 Z71 with a 5.3. It has the infamous Ebay longtube headers, off road Y and a custom exhaust out the back using a Dynomax muffler. It also has a custom 4" air intake, modified stock airbox, ported throttle body, LS1 fans and is tuned by me using HPTuners. Has 2" spindles and rear block removed, as well as 2" shackles and KYB shocks all around.
The weekend toy is a 71 Chevelle SS, factory a/c car. Rebuilt 408 big block engine with a mild solid flat tappet cam, roller rockers, Edelbrock RPM intake, Holley 750DP carb, re-curved Mallory HEI distributor, 2" primary/3.5" collector Hooker Super Comp headers, rebuilt Turbo 400 w/2400 stall, and a rebuilt 12 bolt rear w/373 gears. It's an older restoration that's, slowly but surely, showing it's age but still gets smiles, waves, and thumbs ups every time I take it out. Got a local car show this weekend, although I am FAR from a car show kinda guy I love winning the unofficial burnout contests leaving them, LOL...then I guess it'll get parked for the winter...
Anyway, pics aren't the best, but I hardly ever make it on this site anymore so figured I'd share a few of the pics I took.

Thanks! Like I said, it's starting to show it's age, but still a looker and I drive it as much as possible...
Last car show I went to, I met 2 older gents that said they lived in my same neighborhood (I've been here 20 years), and I've never seen either car before the show...I'll never understand that. Drive them, don't stare at them, LOL...Heck, I beat mine up a little (or a lot) every time I take it out. That's what it's built for.

so...the car show ended up being a joke.
Got there a half hour after it started and was car number 8.
Cut-off time for registering was 1 o'clock and they announced the "winners" at like 1:15...Like I said I am far from a car show guy but this one was pretty screwed up. It was at a local sports bar, so the emcee/promoter and his assistant were trashed by 1 o'clock. They allowed EVERYONE at the show/bar/parking lot to vote and some guy in a POS Monte Carlo SS with $30 Pep Boys modular chrome wheels won, LOL. He snatched the trophy and left within 2 minutes. Come to find out his little son grabbed a handful of vote slips and filled them out with his Daddy's car number.
There was only like 30 cars there, but 29 of them would easily beat that Monte Carlo at a show judged by anyone with even half a brain...and sober.
The guy who promoted the show won a trophy, which I thought was pretty crappy too. The car that should have won, took 2nd, and some dude who got there 2 minutes before the register cutoff time won best of show, lol...
Like I said, what a joke....and a perfect example of why I don't do the car show thing.
On the brightside, I won $50 as one of the door prizes.
