Guys I am going to replace my front grille with a painted SS one. Is it tough? Do I need anyhting special to change it out?

 

On my 99, removing the grille is a piece of cake. Use a flat blade screwdriver and/or door panel tool to remove the clips for the upper radiator cover and remove the cover. There's one 10mm bolt top dead center of the grille, and 4 clips (one in each corner) that require about a 1/4 turn counter clockwise with a phillips head screwdriver. After that the grille pretty much pops off. The corners (between the head and parking lights) are secured with clips. A little tug will pop em out.

 

that is how i took out my grille on my 04. how much was the ss grille?

 

it's a pretty easy process to getting the grill off. just do what was posted up above

 

What year truck do you have? I'm assuming that its a 03-05.
What price are you expecting to pay for the SS grille? I'm look for a black one for my 04 and most have been around $300

 

gm parts direct has it for like 275, not to bad. Sounds like I'll go for it.
