Question Can 6-Lug Wheels Be Re-Drilled To 5-Lug?

Anyone know if any of the newer 6-Lug GM aluminum wheels could be drilled to the older 5 x 5" pattern? Anyone ever done this? If so, can the balance be corrected afterwards? Thanks

Wheels that are already drilled to 6 lug would probably take alot of work to make them into 5 lug, the old holes would have to be filled some how then a machine shop would have to redrill them, the whole job would probably be pretty pricey

it would be cheaper to just buy after market wheels. IMO.

Thanks guys, I have a set of wheels that I have nothing into, so was just curious. And the fact that I just plain like the simpler non-bling factory style wheels.

Do they make adapters? I know they do for 6-5 lug.

Plugging holes isn't hard but plugging holes and having it strong enough to bolt to your 5K lb machine is a different story, try getting adaptors or just switching out to a pre 98 drivetrain! hahaha

I think the 94-96 Impala SS wheels look awesome on those trucks. They are 17x8.5 with the same 5x5 bolt-pattern.

Yes, the Impala SS wheels will bolt right up & look decent, a little old school, but nice. Its just that they are only 17" & I really like the looks of the newer factory 5-spoke aluminum wheels. I'm not into bling or chrome at all, its just my taste. I have always liked the "factory" look. Using adapters makes them hit the fenders, so was just curious if anyone had attemped redrilling a set of 6-hole wheels to 5-hole or not.
