That simple change makes a huge difference. Think I may have to go this way too, a roll pan just makes me nervous.

From the pics, I can't tell that it doesn't totally matched. I checked out ebay and found both front and rear pre-painted...wish I found this out when I still had some bucks, I'd be sporting a black grille and bumpers right now

ridiculously old, i know... but has anybody tried just installing a rear bumper off a black Z71 Tahoe/Suburban? is that a direct swap?

i've had a dent in mine for years & always wanted to get a black OEM replacement - just never made it up the priority list

I have a 2006 Tahoe. I work with a guy who has a 2003or4 1500 and he said they are differant. I looked at them quickly and they looked nearly identical. Worse case you might have to take the brackets off your truck bumper. but the bumpers are identical.

I installed a roll pan from a truck on my tahoe.

I believe the metal portion of the bumper is the same. I believe the upper pads and brackets are different for a Tahoe. You could always get a grey Work truck bumper and paint it black too...

Yup this thread was in the rest home lol!

No a rear Tahoe bumper will not fit, it's not wide enough , I tried .

I bought bumpers from a Z71 Tahoe and the front is the same as the 99-02 truck, rear bumper wouldn't fit .

Or you could either powdercoat or vinyl wrap it.
