very nice. Makes me wonder what I would run with some smaller lighter rims and tires.

 

You were the first person I thought of when I read this thread. I know the Denali is a decent amount heavier... but you are also packin a lot more heat than Dan is. His set up just flat out moves for what it is.

 

I've been looking at getting a setup like this myself. Although my truck isn't as aggressive as Andy's, I still think that I could see some serious attitude adjustment with a lighter, shorter set of rolling stock, and I am curious to see what kind of gains I could get.

 

Any Idea what the new tire rim setup weighs? Mine are just at 69# each and 32.6" tall. I still have my stock Denali 17s and thats the same size tire that I was looking at for track use. Keep us updated on how it runs.

With your gears, that **** would rip! of course, with my deep first gear and 3.73s, I would imagine that would be pretty fun too. I took a glance at 275/50-17s too, but that might get a bit stupid

Yep, the wheels themselves are 9 pounds a piece lighter (21, versus 30).

And I'll hold off on the speedo video until I get it adjusted for the tires. Next video I'll be sure to include some of the track through the windows. Though it is funny seeing all the "sweet dyno run bro" comments.

Because half of my truck has fallen off in the form of rust.


The whole setup weighs exactly 60 lbs I believe. I'm sure I could have found some lighter tires, but these Hankooks had such good reviews, I just had to go with them.

I believe the Denali 17s are about 3-4 pounds a piece heavier, since they're a 17x7.5, instead of 17x7.

 

They also have one less spoke and look less full than your wheels... I wouldnt be surprised if they were very similar in weight.

 

Are they 31mm offset like other stock 17s?
