Default 99-06 Chevy/GMC truck question

I've had my 2001 GMC Sierra Z71 for about a month now, and the ONLY legit gripe I have about the truck is that when I wash it the side mirrors retain water and drain FOREVER, leaving water drain stains down the doors. If any of you can suggest some kind of a solution for this I'd greatly appreciate it!

Get some canned air, like you use to clean your computer keyboard. They will blow that water right out, plus they are small enough to keep in your detail bag (if you have one) in your truck. I used them all the time, but now I have an air compressor I use and give it a once over before I dry. But I still keep some canned air in my bag.

I know in the OBS they used to drill a couple holes in the bottom of the mirror housing to help drain them. I haven't looked at the NBS to see if that would work also.

I know it is a PITA once you think everything is dry and then you go for a ride and come back with dust marks all down your doors.

Canned air is a good idea also. Hadn't thought of that.

or just drille two smaller holes in the bottom of the mirror to let the water drain out...never see the holes

Leaf blower works as well. I've seen a few of the f-body guys that dry their cars with leaf blowers and swear by it.

Air compressor over the mirrors and handles. I also carry a can of A.I.R. in my bag...
