Default 8 lug to 6 or 5 lug conversion

I'm considering another project which will be a diesel but is it possible to move over to a 6 or even better five lug spindle up front ? The rearend is going to be swapped anyways so that is not a problem but what would it take to make it a 5 lug in the back.

i think a vette/camaro 5 lug would be coolest because they have alot more options on different wheel designs. plus i think 5 spoke wheels are pimp.

Not sure, isnt an 8lug a 3/4 ton? I tried to go to a 5 lug with my ZR2 and everyone I talked to steered me from it.....Theres some nice looking 8 lug wheels out nowadays...

I know the advantage of the 8 lug is to tow more but I want to move over to a 5 or 6 lug for other reasons just need to know what all is involved

Thats gonna take some custom work, the 3/4 ton suspension and the 1/2 ton suspension is not interchangeable. You are gonna have to machine your own custom hub or something.

Personally I dont think its worth it, unless you have some kind of very specific reason for doing it. You will already have a drivetrain that will handle more than you will ever be able to throw at it anyways, but to answer your question, I think its gonna take some custom hubs up front to do it.
