64' Ghia with a blown lq4
#1
Something cool from my neck of the woods. This belongs to Ricky Byrd owner of Custom Refinishing. Lots of customizing on this ride and its a FAR cry from what it used to be. It has an guages by dakota digital, LQ4, custom headers, magnacharger, dual walbro 255s and a 5 speed mendeola transaxle.
The car was tuned by Henderson Performance and put down 425hp 500 tq. He also built a square tube frame that has a Chris Alston Mustang II front suspension with coilovers all four corners. The body is fastened to the frame with 10 bolts so removing it to get to the powertrain is no problem. He took it from Texas to Kentucky for the Holley LSfest where it ran a 12.31 @ 115 and won best engineeded in Show N Shine. Ive heard its going to be in an upcoming Hot Rod magazine so keep an eye out.

Yeah, at first I was wondering why the heck would anyone want to fix up a ghia.
I would too!
Pics do no justice, you should see it in person on a sunny sT.
He was kinda disappointed that it wasn't any louder than it is. Post up some pics.
