Alot of that price is probably storage which is why it sat for 6 months.
That guy must be pricey as hell too. I did 16k in damages to an 07 escape that i rolled, insurance paid it off minus 3k because i kept it and then sold it to the body shop for that salvage price. I still broke even and got an 03 ECSB and the body shop fixed the escape and sold it for a profit.
He had to cut the top half of the thing off and put on a new top. Straiten the bottom half so it wouldnt' be leaning. replace the fenders on the passenger side, get a new hood and rear hatch, new windshield and then repaint the entire thing.

12-16k is wayyyyy to much, even 8k Id consider getting close to much, a factory quality colour change paint job around here will run you 5-6 k at most

i agree 16 is alot but i didnt take it to just some body shop. i took it to the best kustom shop around where i live i took it to gary best kustums. his average price for just a color change with no body work is about 10-15000.(and people pay it there is a huge waiting list just to get ure car in ) there is not one flaw throught out the entire truck i mean it is perfect every panel so far . plus to get evrthing done it is only costing me 4000 to shave everthing and do a color change which i dont think it is that bad and the insurance paid almost 12000. trust me i wanted to get rid of it and get and knew but its almost paid for and i got to many other payments so i just got it fixed i think its turning out great

tisk tisk.. sad story but i would never want a truck like that ever.. first that doesnt even look like 12k worht of damage, but estimating damage isnt my job. 2nd if its really worth 12k damage, thats some serious damage and i know i would never be happy with that truck even if it had cool stuff on it. cricks, rattles, uneven lines.. oh well to each his on, hope it turns out good for you.
