Default 2010 Ext Cab 2wd... Drop and wheels question

I am looking at purchasing a drop and 24's for my 2010 ext cab chevy 1500 2wd.

The drop I am looking at is the mcGaughys 4/7 drop, or the 3/5 kit depending on which would tuck 24's better and not rub. So which one?

The wheels are 24x9.5. Back space is 6.25", Offset is +25mm. The rubber I was looking at is Kumho STX 295 or 305/35/24 with overall diameter of tire is 32.2"

Thanks in advance...

Nothing wrong with 24s other than being heavy. The wheel wells in GMT900s are big enough that it won't look ridiculous either.

But I'd bet money the 305s are going to rub.

DO you think they would rub with a 3/5 drop instead of a 4/7 drop?

I'm going to say they probably would still rub, but obviously less than the 4/7 drop...305 is a wide tire, and I think it would be close to rubbing at full lock on stock height, let alone dropped.

I'm not 100 percent sure though, but if you're dead set on the tire size and drop, you could trim the inner fender well liner and eliminate most of the rubbing.

my 285's rub on my NBS, and i've got a 4/6 drop. I don't know what the width difference is between the NBS and NNBS fenders... IMO 24's look ridiculous on anything.

Normally I would agree with you but the GMT900 have huge wheel wells and come sky high from the factory, to the point where my stock 20s have like 8 inches of space between them on the fender.

Here's one on 26s, with only a 3" rear drop:

This one's on 24s, with a 2/4" drop and there's still plenty of fender gap:

And these two are on 24s with a 3/5:

To me, even the 26s don't look out of place, and a 24 with 3/5 to 4/6 seem to fill out the wheel well pretty nicely.
